After countless hours of studying, crying, laughing, procrastinating, longing for time to sleep, working hard and hardly working, partying, learning, and so much more, Thursday marked the beginning of the end.
On Thursday we walked through those double doors as students for one last time. We hugged all the teachers that taught us more than just their subjects and we waved goodbye to friends and acquaintances that we have known our whole lives. Some of us wiped our tears, others smiled proudly, others still just walked out without a care in the world. In less than a week we will be making our way across the stage in an orderly fashion as our names are called out, our hands are shaken, and our diplomas are handed to us. Before we know it, we will be making our way into the real world; the world where we are not sheltered by predictable schedules and surrounded by people that have known us for so long.
As graduation day draws closer and closer it becomes a bit intimidating to think about what life has in store when all we can do to determine how life plays out is make the decisions that we think are best. Life may move in an orderly fashion at some points and be extremely chaotic at other points but despite all of that, we know that we will end up where we need to be.
